Is marriage equality on the cards in Thailand? Marriage for same-sex couples was a major promise from Move Forward before the party was turfed into opposition, but activists and the would-be wedded are buoyed by promises made by Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin. Last month, his cabinet got to work on three bills targeting marriage equality, gender change and the decriminalisation of sex work, Nikkei Asia reports. Srettha also “stressed this as a very urgent issue” to his ministers and wanted to hear back around mid-November. Fingers crossed!
